Did Balloon Boy Say It Was For “Show”? [Video]

This is a little off topic of my blog but………

I know I heard it.  The kids answer to his Dad, was that he did it for show!  I’m sorry, but is it just me or are these parents a little off?  I’d say any family on Wife Swap is probably a little off.  Watch the video and comment for your self.

2009 Nissan 370Z

The Nissan 350z, Infiniti G35 Coupe, and their new big brothers 370z and G37 have made some great visual improvments.  Not only that, but they have raised the hp to 332 which is 17 more hp than in the 2010 V8-powered (and heavier) Mustang GT.   A couple other impressive specs to note are the 0-60 time of 5.1 sec and the 60-0 length of 101 feet.  By the way that’s about on par with Nissan’s GT-R supercar.

“Forty years ago, the Datsun 240Z appeared in the U.S. and the (now Nissan) Z car has had a loyal following ever since. To celebrate four decades of its affordable sports car, Nissan is launching a 40th anniversary edition of the 370Z in 2010.”

Here is a picture of the 40th Anniversary Edition.  Being a special edition of a sports car it only comes with a 6 speed manual transmission.  You get a third peddle folks!

LIVE FEED of 6 year old in Balloon

Wow, this has got to be the most excitement in Colorado in a long time.  First, he’s flying 50 miles in a balloon, no wait, now he may have fallen out during that trip.  No, the kid was just hiding in his attic probably so he didn’t get his butt spanked.

I wonder how much money those parent spent on that “research balloon”??

GPS Improving Driver Safety?

I swear I’m not affiliated with Ford, nor do I even own a Ford, but some research that they have invested $4 million dollars in may produce some technology and safety breakthroughs.  The investment is for Auburn University research and 16 safety programs.

“The satellites track the speed and direction of a car, the road ahead and current conditions to calculate whether an accident is probable. If so, the satellites can communicate with the car’s stability-control system to help avoid it.”

It is a little scary that something in the sky could apply my brakes and steer my car to avoid a wreck.  Sounds like a Knight Rider episode!

2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo MR Touring Edition

I’m starting to like this new 2010 Evo X.  Mitsubishi has given some creature comforts to the MR  Touring models

“The big news is the addition of a Touring package for Evolution MR models. Springing for an MR Touring (pictured above and in the gallery) nets extra sound insulation, a powered sunroof, power and heated leather seats, and automatic wipers and headlights.”

I remember when the WRX first came out and it was like a rally car.  No sunroof option.  Nothing special for the interior at all.  It was a high horsepower turbo 4 street legal rally car.  This class of cars have really come a long.

Ford recalls 4.5 million vehicles over fire hazard

When I read this, I realized most these cars got crushed from the Cash for ClunkersFord Windstar program anyway!

“NHTSA warns consumers to be aware of certain vehicle conditions that could signal a possible problem, such as a cruise control system that stops working or can’t be activated, brake lights that stop working, brake lights and ABS warning lights that illuminate on the dashboard, or the inability to shift the vehicle out of the park position.”

Don’t most Fords eventually have at least one of these issues??  I think if it can’t shift out of park then it’s pretty safe…not moving.

  • 1995-2003 Ford Windstar
  • 2000-2003 Ford Excursion diesel
  • 1993-1997 and 1999-2003 Ford Super Duty diesel
  • 1992-2003 Ford Econoline
  • 1995-2002 Ford Explorers and Mercury Mountaineer
  • 1995-1997 and 2001-2003 Ford Ranger
  • 1994 Ford F53 motor home
